We also manufacture steel railings for the Unit Step.

Every Unit Step comes embedded with 1/2 inch stainless steel nuts for the attachment of railings. When railings are ordered, two stainless steel machine bolts secure each post resulting in a strong and solid installation.

The railings are made from heavy duty steel members and are electrically welded to insure durability.

Each rail is then provided with a primer coat of black enamel. This primed surface allows the purchaser to paint the railing with the finish coat color of their choice. 

Unit Steps do not require ongoing maintenance. Left untouched, the Unit Step will provide years of durable service.

Some customers like to clean their step units periodically. Regular soap and water will take off most dirt and stains. Special concrete cleaners are available from hardware and building supply stores if the stain is particularly troublesome.

Customers may apply concrete sealers, stains or paints to the Unit Step as they would to any concrete surface. Please be sure to always read and follow the label directions of the specific product.

Railings may be repainted with any enamel compatible paint. 

Do not abuse the Unit Step with ice removing chemicals.

The refreezing of the slush resulting from the use of a deicing chemical may cause the surface of concrete to flake and peel.
